Bill Clinton lives in Uganda. No, really, he does. I didn’t believe it either until he showed me his ID and for the rest of the trip Bill and I joked about his name.
This was my third trip to be a part of with Reaction Tour. This past year, my assignment was to assist with the Dance Elective, and might I add, THE UGANDANS LOVE TO DANCE! But I quickly learned that my assignment was much greater than that.
I found that the moments I treasured deeply during this trip were the times I got to simply just hang with the kids. They all had stories to tell and were eager to share. Stories that made me laugh. Stories that made me cry. They just wanted someone to listen, and I was happy to do so.
I loved hearing about their families.
I loved talking about their goals.
I loved being taught their language // Oli Mulungi- You Are Beautiful.
I loved observing that despite certain hardships life had thrown their way, they were hopeful.
I loved learning their names.
So, back to Bill… I bet he’ll be the president one day. That’s what he told me.
As for my assignment, it was to soak up every possible moment I had with them, listening and laughing. They brought me much JOY, and I hope I did the same.
2 John 1:12 - “I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete.”
I’m looking forward to Reaction Tour 2018!
